Oh yes! living in a condo as its perks. More so if you chose to live in an urbanized city like San Juan where condos are the basic shelter in the area due to its limited space.

Pros
-cheaper than a house
-could also be a source of income when up for rent(if possible)
-fixed payment maintenance fee
-enjoyable amenities
-accessibility to necessary places
-no need to maintain the garden since it is included in the monthly fee

Cons
-parking spot is not free
-if you're not into following rules, this place is not for you
-hard to sell

Hope this helps. Regards!

You can also add the sometimes exhorbitant association dues.... in BGC, it's already around P120/sqm/month.... BUT you do get to enjoy the pool and gym ;)

It is important to know all of the factors when deciding on which one to buy.

What is best for you?

This is a question that only you can answer, but one that some people donít think about long enough before answering. The answer really comes down to your lifestyle, and your wants and needs.

If you have a large family and want a yard with space for them to use freely, you really enjoy your space, privacy, then a condo probably isnít for you.

If you live a busy life and would like to simplify your living arrangements by having virtually no yard work or snow removal, then a condo may be what youíre looking for.

Agree also with this. I only have a condo as an investment and halfway home. I still love living and sleeping in a single detached home with a garden and fresh air....but that's me.

I have been looking for a condo recently and have been doing a lot of research on the topic. Here are some advantages of living in a condo that I have found while researching:

Accessible location - The search for a new home always begins with the location. Finding a condo near relevant points of interests to you (schools, work, hospitals, etc) makes your life so much easier.

Safe environment - Property developers always put their clientsí safety as the top priority.

Low maintenance - Living in a condo takes away the stress of maintaining a big space. Yes, you would still have to pay fees, but these are already included in the association dues you shell out every month

Sensible amenities - Another part of your monthly association dues go to the maintenance of shared amenities, which are one of the joys of living in a condo.

On the flip side, One major drawback to condo life is association fees, which are used to building maintenance and amenities, such swimming pool, gym, etc., and the amount of which depends on how big your apartment is. These fees can increase when extra money for maintenance or upkeep is needed. In addition, some buyers do not like homeownersí rules and restrictions associated with condos, and the noise that comes with having a neighbor living too close to you.

I hope this helps! If you need more info on topics like this, I have found that some blogs and real estate websites are really informative. Check out: http://www.zipmatch.com/blog/ for example. Lots of great, relevant content for anyone looking to educate themselves on homebuying.
